Our Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) certified physical therapists specialize in getting golfers back on the course after injury and helping them play pain-free. Using the TPI screen, a full-body movement assessment, we look at how your hips, spine, shoulders and balance affect your swing, then treat the physical limitations behind back, hip, shoulder, elbow and wrist pain. Our in-house golf simulator lets us watch your real swing indoors, any time of year.
Low back pain is one of the most common golf injuries, making up roughly a quarter of golf-related injuries in a 2014 review (Lindsay and Vandervoort, Asian Journal of Sports Medicine). The review linked it to swing mechanics, limited hip rotation and reduced trunk endurance, all of which physical therapy can address. For performance, a 2020 systematic review of 25 studies in the Journal of Sports Sciences found that strength and conditioning programs improved clubhead speed, ball speed and distance by about 4 to 6 percent on average.
Our TPI-certified physical therapists, co-founder Dr. Michael Gentile and Dr. Bailey Kellett, combine the TPI assessment with hands-on care, dry needling and a golf-specific exercise program. With our in-house golf simulator, you can swing a club during your visit so we can see exactly where pain or limitation shows up and confirm you are ready before you return to the course. Every visit is 45 minutes one-on-one with your Doctor of Physical Therapy, and we also offer TPI swing analysis and golf performance packages for golfers who want to play better.

No. Many golfers come in for a TPI swing analysis to find physical limitations, such as limited hip rotation or core stability, that cost them distance or consistency. We also treat golfers who are dealing with pain or returning to the course after an injury or surgery.
The Titleist Performance Institute screen is a series of movement tests that shows how your mobility, stability and balance affect your golf swing. Your results guide a personalized treatment and exercise plan, so you work on the areas that matter most for your body and your game.
Yes, bring your clubs and golf shoes if you can. Our in-house golf simulator lets us watch your swing during your visit, any time of year, so we can connect what we find in the assessment to how you actually play.
We commonly treat low back pain, golfer's and tennis elbow, shoulder and rotator cuff pain, wrist pain, and hip and knee pain in golfers. We also help golfers return to play safely after surgery, such as a joint replacement or rotator cuff repair.
